Evaluation: Question Two

How does your magazine represent particular social groups?

The picture I have chosen to compare is taken from the contents page of 'Top of the Pops' magazine. The reason I chose the two picture is because they are both of bands, although mine is a girl band, they both feature three members.

The pose in the pictures look quite similar as the members are standing close and all look upbeat and happy. Both photo's don't look too staged and have a natural feeling which would appeal to the audiences of both magazines want to see a 'behind the scenes' view.

The costume in the 'Top of the Pops' photos look more styled as the members seem to match more, however none of the costumes in my photo match, I chose to do this as the different clothing reflects the members personalities. The styled appear of the other images shows that it is more professional.

Both photo's are mid shots and this works well as it gives the audience a chance to see the members clothing, which is important as I think that my target audience would be interested in clothing and style, but it also allows the audience to see the facial expressions of the band.
